Generosity of local corporation makes difference at John Howard Society of Saskatchewan drop-in
December 19, 2025
John Howard Society of Saskatchewan would like to take the opportunity to thank our community partners for their generosity this season.
Thanks to a generous $10,000 donation from InterPro Pipe + Steel towards the food program at JHSS’s Manitokhan Drop-in Centre at 1801 Toronto Street, JHSS staff, together with InterPro staff, will be handing out holiday meals at the drop-in from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, December 22.
JHSS’s Regina drop-in serves clients in our Regina community by providing year-round access to a hang-out space, a gym, washrooms, washing machines, a shower, and a cultural room.
“This donation means a lot to JHSS staff and clients,” says Kadir Warsame, Manager of Community Outreach Programs for JHSS’s Regina branch. “We will be able to offer daily coffee and snacks at the drop-in/warming station for the cold months ahead, serve hot meals twice a week and restock our public shower, laundry units and hygiene products.”
JHSS is grateful for community partners in Regina who are willing to help those in need.
“For 70 years, InterPro Pipe + Steel has been a trusted part of the Regina community,” says Jeanny Axon, InterPro’s Regina office manager. “While we are steelmakers, we are also neighbours and we believe in doing what’s right for the people and places that support us. Giving back reflects our responsibility to care for our community and the legacy we are building together.”
Media outlets are invited to chat with volunteers and staff at JHSS’s 1801 Toronto St office, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday December 22, 2025, and with clients when meals are handed out, which will begin at 2 p.m.
JHSS would also like to thank the many community-minded individuals and agencies who have helped our clients this holiday season. We couldn’t do this without you.
