Amin Asfari is the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan Chair in Police Studies at the University of Regina. Previously, he served as Department Chair of Criminology at Regis University in Denver Colorado. His research interests are broad and intersectional and include the experiences of minoritized communities with the criminal justice system—specifically the American Muslim community broadly conceived. His work was featured in numerous journals, books, and book chapters. He is a frequent speaker at community organizations, non-profits, and universities. His work now pivots to understanding the history and lived experiences of indigenous groups in Canada and how such experiences diverge and intersect with other minoritized communities.
