Bert’s Safe Shelter provides emergency shelter to male youth (12-17) for approximately 30-60 days. Referrals to the program come from the Ministry of Social Services (MSS). Bert’s Safe Shelter provides 24/7 staffing and has 7 bedrooms available for youth needing emergency shelter. The goal of the program is to support youth where they are by assisting with their immediate need for shelter and housing while addressing other issues they may be facing, such as addiction, family breakdown, education, and safety.

Bert’s Safe Shelter focuses on short-term concentrated case planning to prepare clients for their next residence, which can include moving into one of our other homes for long-term support.
